Update: I’ve taken these themes down from Github. We’ve changed how we use Infusion, moving from a parent/child setup to strictly parent. It’s for the best.
We are a web design shop that builds custom websites only. Unique to each client’s esthetic and business needs. This is what we are (hopefully) known for. We don’t start with another template and ‘tweak’ it – we start with our very own Infusion base theme (actually the accompanying child theme) and code up from there. If you were to install these themes you’ll see they are a mere skeleton – style-less html markup.
We just don’t do templates.
With that said, I’m happy to introduce a new template theme:
Infusion MMXII is a fully functional parent theme built our own Infusion, and made to look and function like Twenty Twelve, one of the themes that ships with WordPress. I built this for one simple reason: I like working with my code. For clients who run into budgetary impediments for our custom work, but still want to work with us, I needed a place to start – a simple clean look that was easily modified and adjusted. And ran on our code. And it’s free to use.
Why wouldn’t I just use Twenty Twelve?
You probably should. This is no better overall really. But here’s a few reasons you might:
This is an first stab at this. I’ll be updating it as I have time to add new features. Here’s a few items on the list:
- Add a responsive menu back in. (It currently disappears on the small screen. Yes this is definitely NOT the way to release a theme.)
- Add the ability to set a fixed width, verses the current fluid layout
- Add support for WordPress post formats
Have a look if you’re interested. I’d love any feedback good, bad, or ugly. I’m a designer first, remember.
